This policy explains what we collect when you use Terroir, why we collect it, and what you can ask us to do with it. We only ever collect what the service genuinely needs.
What we collect
Account details — your email address and, if you sign in with Google, the name and profile image Google shares with us.
Membership details — your subscription status, plan, renewal date and payment reference. Card numbers are handled entirely by our payment provider and never reach our systems.
What you save and post — saved recipes, weekly meal plans, uploaded dish photographs, community posts, comments and ratings.
Shopping location — the town or postcode you type into the planner, so we can show nearby shops. It stays in your browser and is sent to the maps service only at the moment you search.
Technical information — basic logs and error reports needed to keep the site secure and working.
Why we use it
To give you access to the library, to run your membership and take payment, to save your plans and photographs, to show community posts to other members, to send service emails such as sign-in links and welcome messages, and to prevent abuse.
We do not sell your information, and we do not send marketing email unless you ask us to.
Who we share it with
Only the providers that make the service work: our hosting and database provider, our payment provider, our email delivery provider, the maps service used for shop search, and the AI provider that powers the recipe builder and film features. Each of them handles only what their part of the service requires.
How long we keep it
We keep your account information while your account is open. Billing records are kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires. If you close your account we delete your saved recipes, plans, uploads and community content, or remove your name from anything we must retain.
Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of your information, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to how we use it. Email terroirreceipie@gmail.com and we will respond within 30 days. If you are in the UK or EU and unhappy with our answer, you may complain to your data protection regulator.
Cookies and local storage
We use a small number of essential cookies and browser storage entries to keep you signed in, remember your meal plan and remember your shopping town. We do not use advertising trackers.
Children
Terroir includes recipes for children, but accounts are for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will remove it.
